Workers fear benefits will affect jobs in Vegas

According to a new survey, many workers expect companies will slash their benefits, a move that will affect their jobs in Vegas or other areas.

The survey by Randstad found that almost half of workers surveyed, 48 percent, believe their companies will cut benefits in the New Year and 41 percent believe their companies will lay off workers. However, 74 percent of US workers agree that their companies have great futures.

Company hires for finance jobs in Vegas

Atlantis Internet Group said this week it has acquired a key hire for finance jobs in Vegas.

The Nevada Gaming company has hired C.P. Baker Securities, Inc. as Investment Banker to the Company.

C.P. Baker Securities is a Boston-based Investment Bank which focuses on fast-growing, small cap companies. It will assist ATIG to develop strategic financial direction as well as with investor awareness, increased corporate communications and shareholder support. (more…)

Pizza place hiring for food service jobs in Vegas

A new pizza joint is opening up and will be hiring for food service jobs in Vegas.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, famously known for their award-winning hand-tossed, coal-fired brick oven pizzas and calzones, fresh salads and delicious desserts is announcing its newest location, at 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South in Fashion Show. This will be the first of its Nevada locations to be on the Las Vegas Strip. With Frank Sinatra crooning in the background, Grimaldi’s has over 100-years of pizza making traditions and the tantalizing aroma of pizza and calzones baked to perfection in the signature coal burning oven.

This newest Grimaldi’s is located right in the heart of Fashion Show on the first level in front of the runway. With seating capacity of 102 – including cozy mall seating – the restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:00am – 9:00pm. Always a family favorite, Grimaldi’s will continue to provide floured pizza dough to children for pre-meal fun!

Designed and built by hand, the coal-fired oven at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria delivers a unique flavor and consistency that is just not possible from wood or gas ovens. Weighing in at 25 tons and heated by 100 pounds of coal per day (cleanest burning fuel available and environmentally tested), the oven heats up to 1,200 degrees. The intense heat of the oven evenly bakes the pies to create Grimaldi’s famous crispy and smoky thin crust that Zagat has voted best pizza year after year.

It has been said that the secret to true New York-style pizza is the water. Grimaldi’s believes that too, going to great lengths to keep the integrity of the water used in the Brooklyn pizzeria by hiring a chemist to analyze and recreate the mineral content and exact composition of the water to ensure the dough tastes the same in Nevada.
