Company adds physician assistant jobs in Vegas

Healthcare Partners has created more physician assistant jobs in Vegas with the hiring of a new PA.

Samantha Scheible, a certified physician assistant, has joined HealthCare Partners Medical Group.

HealthCare Partners of Nevada is a network of more than 240 primary care physicians and more than 1300 specialists.

The company has medical clinics and specialty care affiliates throughout Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Pahrump, Boulder City, and Mesquite.

HealthCare Partners provides patient centered comprehensive primary care, specialty, and urgent care services.

Scheible is currently seeing patients at the Spring Valley clinic located at 5320 S. Rainbow Blvd., Suite 150 in Las Vegas.

Scheible received her physician’s assistant certification at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Her outstanding performance at the university earned her membership into Alpha Eta, the National Honor Society of the Allied Health Professions.

She is also an active member of the Nevada Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Are people changing their minds about Vegas engineering jobs?

One in five people may be changing their minds about Vegas engineering jobs, according to a national survey from CareerBuilder.

Fifty-nine percent of workers are satisfied with their jobs, down from 66 percent in 2013; 18 percent are dissatisfied, up from 15 percent last year. Those who are dissatisfied cite concerns over salary (66 percent) and not feeling valued (65 percent) most often as reasons for their dissatisfaction.

Twenty-one percent of full-time employees plan to change jobs in 2014, the largest amount in the post-recession era and up from 17 percent in 2013.

Top Reasons for Staying in Jobs

For the 8 in 10 (79 percent) workers who have no intention of leaving their current job in 2014, a variety of factors weigh into their decision, with relationships with co-workers, work/life balance and benefits topping the list:

1. “I like the people I work with.” – 54 percent

2. “I have a good work/life balance.” – 50 percent

3. “I have good benefits.” – 49 percent

4. “I make a good salary.” – 43 percent

5. “There still is a lot of uncertainty in the job market.” – 35 percent

6. “I have a quick commute.” – 35 percent

7. “I have a good boss who watches out for me.” – 32 percent

8. “I feel valued and my accomplishments are recognized.” – 29 percent

MGM hires for Vegas hospitality jobs

In anticipation of the busy summer season, MGM Resorts International is hiring for Vegas hospitality jobs.

The company is holding a career fair. It anticipates hiring for over 700 open positions.

Job training for the applicants who are selected for the seasonal positions will begin as soon as February. The resort pool season in Las Vegas generally extends through mid-October.

The company is already gearing up for the busy Las Vegas summer pool season by holding a Career Fair to fill more than 700 poolside positions at company resorts.

Positions include full time, part time and on call at ARIA, Bellagio, Circus Circus Las Vegas, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand Las Vegas, The Mirage, New York-New York, The Signature at MGM Grand, and Vdara.

The job fair will be held at the MGM Grand Conference Center Marquee Ballroom, 4701 Koval Lane, Las Vegas.

The company asks everyone to park in MGM Grand’s Self-Parking Garage, off of Koval Lane and north of Tropicana Avenue. The conference center is north of the parking garage.

The job fair will be Tuesday, Jan. 7, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Available positions at the Company’s 12 properties on the Las Vegas Strip include, but are not limited to the following: lifeguard, apprentice bartender, bartender, assistant chef, assistant manager, manager, pool supervisor, pool attendant, bar porter, cabana host, busperson, bus/runner, cocktail server, cashier, cook, pool engineer, helper, host, lead lifeguard, massage therapist, pool greeter, sales associate, pool receptionist, VIP pool guest attendant. Wages are competitive and the level of pay depends upon the job.
