Company creates design jobs in Vegas

One architecture firm has filled a key position by hiring for design jobs in Vegas.

EV&A; Architects, a Las Vegas-based architecture firm, said Kevin Welch has been named the firm’s design director.

As design director for EV&A, Welch works closely with firm principals, clients and the project management team to ensure that project deliverables go out on time, on budget and support project goals while maintaining client satisfaction.

Welch attended Truckee Meadows College, College of Southern Nevada and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Architecture. He is also an associate member of American Institute of Architects.

He also supports the principals of the firm by maintaining a consistent design vision, philosophy and workflow with clients as well as the firm’s design and project teams.

Company hires for physician jobs in Vegas

HealthCare Partners Medical Group has made a key hire for physician jobs in Vegas.

Oncologist and hematologist Dr. Carlos William Araujo, MD, has joined the group to provide primary, pediatric, specialty and urgent care services in Southern Nevada.

Dr. Araujo has served the Las Vegas community as an oncologist and hematologist for nearly 12 years. Prior to joining HealthCare Partners, He worked at the Nevada Cancer Center and opened Horizon Cancer and Hematology Center in 2009.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He received his post-graduate training at the University of Chicago Medical Center (general surgery internship), Lutheran General Hospital (internal medicine internship and residency) in Park Ridge, Ill., and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (hematology and oncology fellowship) in Denver.

Dr. Araujo, who is board-certified in internal medicine, oncology and hematology, will practice the company’s Total Care Model, an approach in which physicians and professional staff work as a coordinated team to manage patients’ care and overall health.

HealthCare Partners Nevada is a network of approximately 290 primary care providers and more than 1,700 specialists. It has approximately 100 clinics and specialty care affiliates throughout Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Pahrump, Boulder City and Mesquite

Company builds plasma center; creates healthcare jobs in Vegas

A new plasma donor center will be responsible for creating healthcare jobs in Vegas.

Grifols is building a Biomat USA, Inc. plasma donor center in North Las Vegas.

Grifols is a global healthcare company that produces life-saving plasma medicines for people with rare, chronic and life-threatening conditions.

Plasma donated at Grifols plasma donor centers is used to produce therapies out of human plasma for people with serious conditions, such as immune deficiencies, rare neurological disorder, bleeding disorders, a genetic form of emphysema, and to treat shock, trauma, and burns.

To ensure an adequate supply of plasma, Grifols operates the largest network of plasma donation centers in the world that includes approximately 150 centers in the United States.

When the center opens in late spring it will employ 24 people from the local area, with expectations to increase to 60 employees as the center expands its operations.

The Biomat USA, Inc plasma donor center is looking forward to partnering with the City of North Las Vegas and being part of the local community.

Over the next several years, the donor center’s goal is to accommodate up to 2,000 donors per week to help further Grifols’ mission of meeting the demand for life-saving medicines to treat patients worldwide.

The company will contribute over $6.2 million each year to the local economy through payroll and other operating expenses.
